WESTPORT AXLE CO, a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. is a leading transportation and third-party logistics provider (3PL) that offers a broad scope of services throughout the entire supply chain. Westport's experienced management team, with its state-of-the-art technology, provides customized logistics solutions to its customers resulting in proven efficiencies and savings.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Supervise and coordinate all daily activities for assigned production lines or departments.
  • Ensure production targets for output, quality, and efficiency are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, feedback, and disciplinary action as needed.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Communicate production goals, priorities, and performance expectations to team members.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and other departments to resolve issues and support production flow.
  • Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and labor tracking using ERP/MES systems.
  • Lead daily team meetings and shift handoffs, ensuring smooth transitions and clear communication.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, and process optimization.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and customer specifications.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to use MS software to complete reports, emails and projects.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
  • Knowledge of the production process, plant and its various functions.
  • Knowledge of production parts required for assembly.
  • Ability to lead people
  • Willingness to complete required classes and other recommended seminars that may be identified through career path process.
