Local CDL-A Shuttle Drivers Needed - Home Daily!
Universal Dedicated of Detroit is seeking reliable CDL-A drivers for local shuttle routes based in Detroit, MI. This is a great opportunity to join a union position with steady freight, consistent schedules, and daily home time.
Pay:
  • $22.50/hour experienced drivers
  • $21.00/hour for 0-1 year experience
  • After 1 year jumps to $24.25/hour.

Position Details:
  • Local shuttle operations (home daily)
  • 2nd shift openings 2pm - 11:30 pm
  • Overtime typically 1-5 hours per week
  • Union position with benefits
  • Touch freight (chaining/strapping loads only - no loading/unloading)
  • Union position (Teamsters Local 299)
  • Seniority-based route bidding every 6 months

Responsibilities:
  • Safely transport materials between terminal and customer locations
  • Follow delivery schedules based on customer production needs
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Maintain DOT compliance at all times
  • Communicate with dispatch and operations teams
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment

Training:
  • T2T (Train-to-Train) program required for recent graduates
  • Experienced drivers may be exempt based on prior experience

Requirements:
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
