Position Overview:

Join our team at The Grill, a vibrant lakeside restaurant known for fast, casual dining at Clemson Marina! As a Server, you'll be the face of our restaurant, ensuring guests enjoy a delightful dining experience with breathtaking waterfront views. This role is perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and love engaging with people, making every meal memorable.

This role is seasonal, with potential for continued employment based on performance, availability, interest in year-round work, and business needs. Extension decisions are evaluated at the end of the season and consider off-season operational demands and existing staffing levels.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet all guests warmly within 30 seconds of their arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assist guests in selecting food and beverages by promoting daily specials and sharing your genuine recommendations and preferences.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and communicate them effectively to the kitchen.
  • Efficiently assemble and deliver orders to the appropriate tables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide prompt and attentive service, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests in a professional, swift manner.
  • Process payments and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, chairs, and the dining area.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience, especially in food service or retail (training provided for those without prior experience)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and excellent teamwork abilities
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Clear background check and drug screening.
  • Full weekend availability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a server or in a similar role
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service best practices
  • Enthusiasm for lakeside living and the boating lifestyle

Working Conditions:

  • Performs work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, as The Grill features covered outdoor dining areas.
  • Remains stationary for extended periods of time.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with guests to take orders and handle guest needs.
  • Moves about the restaurant to deliver food to customers and carry out sanitation duties.
  • Moves up to 25 lbs.

The anticipated pay for this position is $2.50 per hour plus tips, which are distributed through a tip pool.
