Job description

Description
RAC lifeguards provide a safe aquatic environment for members in accordance with policies and rules established by the Rochester Athletic Club and the American Red Cross or equivalent. We staff lifeguards year round, not only during the summer months. If interested, training can be coordinated with RAC Aquatics Director. If training and certifying in 2022, the RAC offers a certification reimbursement program. For more specific details, contact RAC Aquatics Director, Whitney Benedetti.

Requirements
  1. Current Lifeguard Training/First Aid Certification is required.
  2. Mature, responsible behavior.
  3. Ability to remain alert.
  4. To do nothing illegal or unethical.
  5. Oversee the pool area to prevent accidents and provide a safe, enjoyable environment in accordance with ARC guidelines.
  6. React to all pool emergencies in an efficient, effective manner according to pool emergency procedures.
  7. Comply with and enforce pool policies and rules established by the Rochester Athletic Club.
  8. Comply with club policies/guidelines including but not limited to; uniforms, work substitutions, schedule requests, parking, mandatory meetings, and time clock procedures.
  9. Complete pool records and accident reports and log sheets with accuracy.
  10. Maintain safety equipment at guard station for completeness and good working condition.
  11. Maintain cleanliness of pool and surrounding areas.
  12. Act as a resource to members with club activities and events.
  13. Follow the chain of command when dealing with problems.
