Job description

We are currently taking resumes/applications for a General Laborer Technicians for the Golden Meadow, LA & surrounding area. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:

  • Job Scope:
    • Work in the manufacturing process of wire rope and chain assemblies.
    • Service tanks, containers, baskets, & slings daily
  • Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Service all sling and rigging on yard
    • Maintain appearance of shop and yard by keeping equipment organized
    • Verify condition of slings prior to customer pick up
    • Assist Sling Shop Foreman with all daily operational tasks.
    • Cutting-splicing-and building cable assemblies of all sizes.
      • Assemble components to construct slings
      • Splice wire rope
      • Knock up and press sleeves
    • Cutting and building chain slings of all sizes
      • Assemble components to construct slings
      • Splice wire rope
      • Knock up and press sleeves
    • Test slings on horizontal test bed
    • Paint and final inspect all sling
    • Cleaning and preparing a job site
      • Mange house keeping activities when requested.
      • Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
      • Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
    • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
    • Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
    • Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift and/or drag up to 55 lbs
    • Must have good endurance
    • Will be required to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, and crawl to perform task
    • Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
    • Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
    • Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
    • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
  • Documents Required:
    • Driver's License/Identification
    • Social Security Card/Birth Certificate
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and physical
  • Pay:
    • $15.00 - $17.00 (DOE)
    • Weekly Pay
    • Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
  • Schedule:
    • Monday - Friday (Weekends & call outs as needed)
      • 8AM - 4PM
  • Duration of Job: Temp to Hire
