Job Summary
The Assistant to the Registrar provides administrative and clerical support to the Registrar. This job seeks to utilize technical, organizational, and communication skills to effectively carry out office duties essential to the operation of the Registrar's office.

Essential Job Duties
  • Provide excellent service and accurate information for faculty, staff, students, and visitors both at the counter and on the telephone for the Academic Center.
  • Maintain scanning/linking of documents in Image Now.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute all electronic transcripts.
  • Maintain the Colleague log of transcripts and credit by testing reports received toward the admission and evaluation process, and train staff in other offices to log transcript receipts as needed.
  • Examine and manage student academic information from all enrollment offices and personnel.
  • Prepare transcripts for evaluation and post all pre-approved transfer work.
  • Enter transfer data.
  • Send transfer summary reports.
  • Coordinate the sending of all Union transcripts and maintain communication with the National Student Clearinghouse.
  • Manage online audit applications, schedule audit appointments, and create audit folders.
  • Assist with formatting, editing, and publishing of undergraduate and graduate catalogues.
  • Assist Registrar with correspondence and verification forms.
  • Sort and respond to office mail as appropriate.
  • Order and maintain office supplies for the Academic Center.
  • Assist with all graduation ceremonies.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Other Job Duties
Required Qualifications
Two or more years of clerical experience is required. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills and be able to handle confidential material. The candidate must also have strong relational skills and able to work in a fast-paced college environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, with demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and other software applications. Typing skills are also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree.
Christian Requirement
Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University's Identity, Mission, Core Values, and Statement of Faith, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life.
