Overview

Compensation: $50,000- $80,000 based on experience and credentials

Location Type: Hybrid

Position Type: Full Time 

The Dealer Relations Liasion is responsible for identifying sustainable growth opportunities through the cultivation of dealer relationships. This role is expected to deliver the sales of Suncoast Credit Union’s products and services to dealers and other dealer-related stakeholders. Key responsibilities include actively monitoring, managing, and directing dealership productivity for viable business profitability and risk management. This is accomplished through the maintenance of current dealer relationships as well as increasing our market presence through building new relationships with franchise dealerships.


Responsibilities
  • Actively promote and sell our financial products and services to dealership partners, driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets
  • Solicit new business opportunities within the dealership network to expand market presence and increase loan volume
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to dealership decision-makers to highlight the benefits of our products and services
  • The Dealer Relations Liasion is also expected to be the primary advocate for both the dealership and internal credit staff to ensure all parties are effectively communicating and working together
  • Review and follow up on approved applications to promote conversion for both funded contracts and direct loan business
  • Work with other business units to onboard new members established via the indirect channel; sales of credit union products and services are expected
  • Develops, trains, and supports the Credit Union’s dealership network for both direct and indirect lending programs
  • Analyze dealer performance and communicates expectations on production, application quality, delinquency, losses, profitability, education gaps, and other information necessary to a supportive relationship
  • Assists with vetting and onboarding auto loan related vendors. Identifies gaps in systems or processes and offers recommendations for remediation
  • Cultivates relationships with lead dealership personnel, including General Managers, Owners, and General Sales Managers, to promote effective communication
  • Research auto loan trends and obtains feedback from dealerships to offer information relevant for making recommendations for program updates or changes
  • Fields and vets inquiries from dealerships interested in joining the dealership network
  • Creates and maintains market reports to include dealer visit information, auto industry trends, and territory information in regard to auto loans
  • Acts as facilitator for problem resolution requests on auto loan applications from originations to processing
  • Assists manager with development and implementation of Credit Union Car Sales in local regions.
  • Generate awareness of Credit Union car sales by Credit Union staff and members.
  • Conduct and maintain regular service center visits to cultivate the relationship between front line staff, Dealer Services and Dealer Relations Liaisons
  • Educate front line employees on the indirect lending program and maintenance of dealer relationships
  • Host seminars and training sessions about Indirect Lending and Car Buying programs for members and Credit Union staff
  • Represent Suncoast Credit Union at conferences/training seminars and other industry related events
  • Attend job-specific training classes as requested by manager. This includes completing annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understanding employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completing FACT Act Red Flag training
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
  • Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
  • Complete annual compliance and info security training to understand employees' role in maintaining effective compliance and security programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, or CCUFC designation. (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements)
• 3-4 years’ experience in consumer lending with a financial institution.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Previous outside sales and training experience desired
• Previous experience with report writing and report analyzing
• Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
• Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
• Ability to analyze and resolve difficult and often complex problems or situations
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
• Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures
• Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
• Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
