In this role, you will be responsible not only for accurately estimating and bidding current project opportunities, but also for actively developing new business, generating sales, and bringing in work to support continued growth.This position plays a critical role in both securing and executing projects-you'll lead estimating efforts from concept through completion while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and industry partners to expand our presence in the market.You'll be joining a team where your precision, initiative, and expertise make a measurable impact. A strong background specifically within the construction scaffolding industry is essential, as your hands-onknowledge and industry insight will be key in driving successful project outcomes and contributing to the continued growth of our business.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Identify and pursue new project leads and client relationshipsAnalyze and evaluate project plans, specifications, scope, difficulty, and any other requirements necessary to prepare a job cost estimate and assemble bid packagesPrepare conceptual estimates and/or budgetsPerform accurate quantity take-offs and develop bid packagesCollaborate with vendors and subcontractors for pricing and scope coverageAttend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and planning sessionsProvide value engineering and cost-saving solutionsWhen the quantity survey is complete, establish profit & overhead for project when requestedUse the Request for Information (RFI) process when information is lacking (document appropriately)Identify and report any observed inaccuracies or omissions in plans and specificationsMaintain in the job file, all correspondence records and notes for the project being bid (log all bid documents)Review and analyze quotes to assure they meet the standards and specifications for the projectUtilize D2 Estimating templates with proficiency to (a) extract production rates, (b) input quantity and costs according to phases of work requiredImmediately respond to any vendor or subcontractor questions; resolve issues immediately and completelyMaintain detailed records and documentation for each bidWhile it is impossible to list every duty that may be asked of an employee, the Employer may ask that employee to perform other duties as the business need arises. ABOUT YOU:As a part of the F D Thomas family of companies, D2 Industrial Services believes our most valuable resource is our family of skilled, loyal, and professional employees. Our company passion and purpose are to leave things better than we found them.In addition to your passion and purpose, to be successful in this Estimator & Business Development role, you will possess the following:Proven experience in scaffolding or soft craft estimatingStrong background in construction business developmentExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsExcellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skillsProfessional education and/or experience in the construction and/or relevant industriesThorough understanding of estimating and/or construction project controlsSignificant level of overall experience in the design/construction field, specifically industrial and commercial scaffoldingProficient with Microsoft operating systems and software (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) with an ability to accurately learn new software quicklyStrong working knowledge of Viewpoint & Sutor Soft Estimating SpreadsheetsWe thank you for your time in learning a little about us here at D2 Industrial Services, as well as the opportunity we have available for someone who is Dependable, People-oriented, and Achievement-oriented.You will find we offer a competitive pay range of $154k -$165k annually (depending on the combination of experience & education.
