Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assists in the preparation of accurate, competitive construction bids by utilizing the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Directly contributes to the success of the company by working with the Estimating Team and Management to to build and sustain relationships with clients.
  • Works closely with the department to maintain estimating data, establish and maintain standardized estimating practices, and foster a solid team approach within the department.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Meets one of the following requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a construction or engineering related discipline, OR
    • At least five years of plumbing and/or HVAC service field trade experience/training/education, OR
    • Equivalent combination of the above.
  • Experience: 
    • At least 1 year of plumbing and/or HVAC service estimating experience (non-residential) is preferred.
    • Experience with computerized estimating programs preferred. 
    • Experience with service sales and systems sizing/design preferred. 
  • Able to comprehend applicable construction documents.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Work well in team atmosphere.
  • Computer Skills: Accurate typing skills and proficient with computer, specifically Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), plus Outlook, Windows, and Internet. Must be able to quickly learn new software.  
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check.  Must be able to meet P1 qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years of age.  Must possess a valid driver’s license.  Must have access to drive a well maintained vehicle.  Must have up to date registration with the local Department of Motor Vehicles.  Both the candidate and the vehicle must be currently covered on a personal insurance policy.
