Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural engineering calculations for concrete, wood, and steel structures across residential and commercial projects.
  • Review and validate engineering plans, calculations, reports, and supporting documentation for technical accuracy and compliance with applicable codes.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, drafters, and project managers to meet deadlines, maintain quality, and reinforce a culture of team success.
  • Support internal coordination by communicating workload, progress, and capacity to leads and management.
  • Assist in proposal preparation, project bidding, and client meetings as part of business development efforts.
  • Maintain accurate project tracking and visibility using Pipedrive’s Projects feature, including timelines, budgets, and internal assignments.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and willingness to learn company-specific workflows and operating procedures.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
  • Obtain or maintain BCAIB certification, if applicable, to support plan review and code compliance services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Active Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
  • Current BCAIB certification preferred, or willingness to take the BCAIB exam within the first six months of employment.
  • Basic understanding of structural design and engineering principles.
  • Minimum of 2 years of AutoCAD experience.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and design tools such as RISA 3D.
  • Knowledge of commercial and residential building codes and standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, compliant work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to fully integrate into Beryl’s collaborative culture, processes, and expectations.
