They are members of a labor union, which negotiates wages, benefits, and working conditions on their behalf. Union insulation workers often receive formal training through apprenticeships and work on projects such as commercial buildings, factories, and power plants. Their responsibilities may include reading blueprints, measuring and cutting insulation materials, and ensuring installations meet safety codes.
