Job description

Position will operate as a member of the Card Applications & Development team, responsible for developing advanced technology solutions to meet the current and growing demands of the Credit Union - primarily supporting the debit card, credit card and ATM business lines. Individual will be responsible for understanding, analyzing, and translating business needs and product requirements into technical solutions with minimal supervision. Individual will engage and partner with stakeholders across the organization throughout the development, execution, and testing phases of assigned initiatives.
1. 30% Responsible for setting technical direction, architecture, and drive the evolution of technology platforms and development of standards to ensure we delivery scalable solutions, that are in alignment with business goals across the team and the organization.
2. 20% Subject matter expert that effectively collaborates with senior leadership, external partners, product teams, project managers, business analysts, stakeholders, and other engineering teams to guide the overall technical strategy of the team.
3. 15% Serve as subject matter expert, contributing practitioner, thought leader, career guide and mentor to the team and department leaders on new technology, and assists in the vetting, prototyping, and evaluation of products and services. Must effectively lead, train and mentor mid-level through senior engineers to develop the talent pipeline of the team.
4. 15% Tackle organizational-wide challenges, such as optimizing system performance across multiple products, driving architectural changes, and addressing technical debt on a large scale.
5. 10% Help shape the long-term technical strategy of the company through high-level decision making and ensure selected solutions are performant, future-proof and scalable.
6. 10% Create and implement complex features, is an expert at troubleshoot and determining root cause of issues when they arise, and a go to resource for the support of production incidents.
Works closely with Management, Product Owners, UX, Content Specialists, and Analysts on the Digital Strategy and Delivery team to gather and refine requirements and understand their business needs in order to turn them into technical solutions.
Engage with third-party partners for Support & Troubleshooting, and project planning and execution.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer and Information Systems (or an equivalent).
Required Experience: Experience with IBM mainframe development.
Preferred Experience: Experience with RTC (Rational Team Concert) and CV Systems application.
Required Years of Experience: 10+ years
