Job description

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of diesel-powered buses. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who takes pride in keeping vehicles safe, reliable, and road-ready, ensuring our drivers and passengers get where they need to go without interruption.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and coach-related components of over-the-road buses
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and brakes
  • Maintain accurate records of all service work performed
  • Follow all safety procedures and company protocols
  • Communicate clearly with drivers, dispatch, and the maintenance manager regarding vehicle status and repair timelines
  • Stay up to date on the latest diesel engine technologies and repair techniques

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably on buses, trucks, or heavy-duty vehicles
  • Own your own basic shop tools - specialty and shop tools provided
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to obtain a CDL – we'll help cover the cost
  • Must be able to do shift work – including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, stand for long periods, and work under vehicles
  • ASE certifications preferred
