The Commercial Loan Officer will be responsible for the development, growth and retention of the business loan and deposit portfolio. Responsible for the overall commercial lending efforts of the credit union including, but not limited to:

  • Recruiting potential clients and building this segment of business.
  • Developing and implementing competitive loan products and depository products.
  • Training financial center staff in all manner of business lending.
  • The origination, processing, presentation, closing and tracking of business loan applications and closed loans.
  • Ensures product and portfolio compliance with NCUA and other applicable laws and regulations.

This position will cover the Greater Tampa Bay area.


Required Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited university is preferred. 
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years commercial loan and business service skills required, or one (1) year of commercial lending experience within the credit union required. 
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written. 
  • Must have good analytical skills. 
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the current software systems or experience on related systems. 
  • Must have thorough knowledge of all laws related to commercial lending as well as laws and regulations that govern the operation of Federal Credit Unions.
  • Must possess a valid driverโ€™s license.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and type English.
  • Must be able to hear and use a telephone.
  • Use of computer requires repetitive keystrokes.

Work Environment

  • This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remote and report to Grow Headquarters and/or retail locations.
  • Local travel to retail stores, existing, and prospect member accounts about 50% of the week.
