JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Duties:
Fox Technology Center, LLC seeks an Electronics Engineer (Senior Broadcast Engineer) to provide engineering support for all on-air broadcast systems, and follow standard operating procedures and documentation to support the operations team in a 24/7 environment. Specific duties include: 1) Build and maintain Fox's broadcast infrastructure. 2) Conduct lab, performance and system tests and prototype efforts that can continually evolve Fox's architecture and infrastructure. 3) Support evaluation of solutions portfolio against third party offerings. 4) Maintain a communication link between broadcast engineering and other department by partnering to resolve issues and communicating feedback to broadcast engineering management, to improve processes, services, and solutions. 5) Provide support to Media Operations in day-to-day operations and assist users with technical issues or concerns. 6) Partner with the Engineering and Standards and Advanced Technology teams to develop groundbreaking technology solutions for challenging business issues. 7) Collaborate with engineering teams, operations teams, and third-party vendors to develop long term strategy, product development and implement road maps. 8) Know data is critical to making informed business decisions and use it to understand and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering team's performance. 9) Analyze dashboards and constantly optimize system security and testing, minimizing bugs making it to final products. 10) Embody a culture of continuous learning, especially in emerging technologies. 11) Be part of a high performing team and delivering high quality products.
Job Requirements:
Requires a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related field, plus two (2) years of broadcast engineering or related engineering experience in broadcast or television facility.
*Specific skills: Also requires experience or knowledge in the following: 1) IP-based technologies, IPv4 addressing, subnetting, routing, and network design principles; 2) IP protocols such as TCP, UDP, RTP, DNS and NAT; 3) SMPTE 2110 suite of standards and specifications such as AMWA NMOS; 4) Compression techniques such as MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XS; 5) Asset management systems, file-based workflows, media acquisition, transcoding/encoding, and NAS/SAN technologies; 6) On-prem and cloud-based storage and compute infrastructure platforms; and 7) Cloud-based technologies such as AWS services, EC2, S3, RDS and IAM
