Job description

As Director of Digital Assets Network, you will spearhead the vision, development, and global expansion of Western Union's Digital Assets Network (DAN). In this pivotal role, you will define and execute the long-term product, growth, and commercial strategy-seamlessly connecting partners into Western Union's broader ecosystem across retail, digital banking, and financial services.
You will champion customer-centric innovation, shape a scalable and market-leading product, and drive adoption at a global level. Success in this role requires deep expertise in blockchain and stablecoin technologies, exceptional product leadership, and the ability to navigate complex, fast-evolving environments while delivering measurable business impact.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the strategy to scale DAN into a global multi-sided network.
  • Own the P&L for DAN, including revenue growth, cost management, margin optimization, and financial performance against targets.
  • Drive monetization strategy, pricing models, and revenue diversification across products, partners, and regions.
  • Own adoption, transaction volume, revenue, and commercial outcomes.
  • Drive expansion across stablecoin ecosystems, exchanges, wallets, fintechs, and financial institutions.
  • Build and scale strategic partnerships across the digital asset ecosystem.
  • Lead global expansion across LATAM, EMEA, and APAC.
  • Establish governance, KPIs, financial targets, and operating model to scale the network.
  • Lead product roadmap development, prioritization, and execution aligned to customer needs and business strategy.
  • Drive integration of DAN with Western Union's retail, digital, and financial services platforms.
  • Partner with finance, compliance, legal, and risk teams to ensure regulatory and financial alignment across global markets.
  • Champion innovation by identifying emerging trends in blockchain, stablecoins, and digital asset infrastructure.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, globally distributed team to deliver against growth, product, and financial objectives.

Role Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in fintech, payments, crypto, or platform businesses
  • 5-10 years delivering blockchain, digital asset, or stablecoin products
  • Proven experience building or scaling stablecoin, crypto payments, or blockchain network businesses (required)
  • Track record of owning or influencing P&L, commercial strategy, and revenue growth in a platform or network business
  • Strong product and commercial (GM) mindset with experience diversifying revenue streams and driving profitability
  • Track record of driving network growth, ecosystem expansion, and liquidity/adoption
  • Deep expertise in stablecoins, liquidity networks, on/off-ramps, and cross-border financial infrastructure
  • Experience delivering stablecoin, DeFi, or embedded finance platforms in large institutions or high-growth startups
  • Familiarity with companies such as Circle (CPN), BVNK, Bridge, Stripe Crypto, PayPal, and/or Coinbase
  • Strong cross-functional leadership across product, engineering, compliance, finance, and commercial teams
  • Experience scaling products across international markets and global payment ecosystems
  • Working knowledge of global regulatory frameworks for digital assets and compliance-driven product development

Salary
The base salary range is $215,000 - $245,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus a variable target incentive that aligns with individual and company performance.
