JOB SUMMARY
To provide basic hygiene services to the patients of Union Community Care (UCC).
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES
Administrative
1.Monitor the quality of patient care and recommend and implement changes for improving patient care
2.Develop educational programs for Head Start and other community agencies
3.Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Dental Director
Clinical
4. Provide dental hygiene care for patients
5. Facilitate oral health education for patients both clinically and in outreach settings
6. Maintain legible, legal documentation in patient charts as directed by department policies
7. Participate in continuing education to stay abreast on new techniques and procedures in the field of dentistry
Billing
8. Accurately code procedures following each dental visit
9. Follow processes for ensuring prior authorization is received before initiation of procedures that require prior authorization
Other
10. Performs other work-related duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Active Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Dental Hygienist License
  • Dental Hygiene degree from accredited school
  • Successful completion of Union Community Care's (UCC) credentialing process
  • Participation in all insurance plans that UCC accepts
  • Some administrative experience preferred
  • English proficiency required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In order to fulfill the requirements of this position, duties 1-10 are considered essential functions of the job.
ORGANIZATIONAL INVOLVEMENT
This position is required to participate in mandatory all staff meetings, team meetings and trainings.
