Broadcast Motion Designer (+Emerging Tech & AI)

Full Time/Regular - (Tampa, FL)

Overview

FOX Television Stations is looking for a visionary Senior Motion Designer to join our creative team. This role is designed for a world-class animator who is obsessed with the "what's next." While your primary focus will be designing and animating high-impact visuals for broadcast and digital, you will serve as our resident explorer for emerging technologies.

We aren't looking for a coder; we are looking for a creative who uses Generative AI, advanced motion techniques, and new tech tools to push the boundaries of what our station group can produce. You will lead by example-showing the team how to integrate AI into the creative process to elevate the craft, spark inspiration, and sharpen our competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Premier Content Creation: Design and animate high-level motion graphics for branding, news promos, and large-scale creative campaigns.
  • Tech Exploration: Actively research and "beta-test" emerging AI tools (image, video, and audio generation) to determine their practical value in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
  • Creative Innovation: Integrate AI and new technologies into your own design process to solve creative challenges and enhance visual storytelling.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Act as a creative spark for the department, sharing discoveries and "pro-tips" to help fellow designers stay ahead of the curve.
  • Collaborative Prototyping: Work alongside creative leadership to experiment with new visual styles and faster ways to move from concept to air.

Required Qualifications

  • Elite Motion Design Skills: Expert-level mastery of After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite. A strong eye for typography, pacing, and 3D space is essential.
  • AI-Fluent: High proficiency in using generative AI tools (such as Midjourney, Runway, Firefly, or Gemini) as part of a professional creative toolkit.
  • Agile Mindset: The ability to pivot between traditional design methods and new tech-assisted workflows based on the needs of the project.
  • Broadcast Savvy: Understanding of the speed and technical requirements of a daily broadcast environment.
  • Problem Solver: A natural curiosity for finding "the better way" to create a stunning visual.

Preferred Experience & Tools

  • Experience with 3D software (Cinema 4D, Blender) and how it intersects with AI-driven textures or rendering.
  • A history of working in agencies, media companies, or studios that prioritize innovation.
  • Passion for the ethical and creative evolution of AI in the arts.

What Success Looks Like

  • You are the "go-to" designer for our most visually ambitious projects.
  • The team looks to your work as a benchmark for how emerging tech can elevate traditional design.
  • You've successfully demystified AI for the department, turning it into a collaborative tool rather than a technical hurdle.
  • Our output is more visually diverse and cutting-edge thanks to your constant experimentation.

Required for Consideration

Submission Requirements: > * A Motion Design Reel that proves you are a master of movement, composition, and style.

  • A Portfolio/Supplement showcasing how you've experimented with or implemented AI and emerging tech in your creative projects.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $65,000.00-70,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
