The Underwriting Assist willassistthe Underwriter by reviewing insurance

applications, inspections, and other pertinent information to evaluate, classify, and rate submissions for insurance by performing the following duties.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Work with Underwriter, ensuring that all required information is obtained, proper applications are completed, quotes and binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly and accurately, state filings (where applicable) are made, and taxes paid in accordance with appropriate state laws.

  • Provide fullassistanceand support for the sales and production process; including, but not limited to, providing new business quotes as needed.

  • Issuance of renewals.

  • Work with Underwriter when reviewing riskssubmittedby Producers, rate submissions for premium and terms, and issuewritten binders.

  • Review indications, quotes, binders, submissions and policies for completeness anda highdegree of accuracy including forms and editions.

  • Become thoroughly familiar with the use of all agency management software systems and suggest labor saving uses to management.

  • Order and review inspections. This duty requires the ability toidentifythe different exposures of risks, verify information obtained on inspection with the information on policy for accuracy and verification of underwriting guidelines.

  • Issuance of Certificates of Insurance.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability tomaintaina high levelof confidentiality.

  • 1 - 3 years' experience in a similar position

  • Strong multitasking capabilities in a deadline-driven environment

  • Excellent proofreading and accuracy

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

  • Professional demeanor and customer-focused mindset

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field (Preferred)
