General Laborer - Civil / Electrical Construction

The General Laborer supports field construction activities by assisting skilled trades, equipment operators, foremen, and supervisors with the safe and efficient execution of electrical and civil construction work. This position performs general site preparation, material handling, excavation support, underground installation support, housekeeping, and other duties necessary to maintain productive field operations.

What You'll Do

Assist with general construction and site preparation activities. Perform hand excavation, potholing, trench preparation, and cleanup. Assist equipment operators by serving as a spotter when required. Support installation of underground conduit, duct banks, grounding systems, and associated infrastructure. Assist with conduit layout, placement, spacing, and securing under the direction of qualified personnel. Install and/or assist with installation of pull rope and other conduit accessories. Assist with bedding, backfill, compaction, and restoration activities. Stage, load, unload, organize, and distribute construction materials. Assist with concrete placement and related civil activities. Maintain barricades, signage, and safe access around work areas. Maintain clean and organized work areas, laydown yards, and material storage areas. Inspect and maintain basic hand tools and construction equipment. Follow instructions provided by foremen, supervisors, and equipment operators. Participate in daily pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and safety meetings. Follow company safety policies, PPE requirements, and site-specific procedures. Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or potential hazards.

Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry construction materials and equipment. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions. Ability to bend, kneel, climb, walk, and stand for extended periods. Must wear required PPE and comply with all project safety requirements.
