Job Summary

As the Construction Manager I, II, III, you will ultimately be responsible for managing construction crews, overseeing field operations, and ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. You will coordinate construction activities, manage project resources, and oversee budgets, staffing, and customer communication. As the Construction Manager I, II, III, your customers are internal construction teams, project managers, utility providers, and telecommunications clients, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through operational leadership, project execution, and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to)

Manage and coordinate the daily activities of assigned construction crews while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Train, mentor, evaluate, and develop Foremen and field personnel, including performance management and corrective actions.

Coordinate project scheduling, material procurement, budgeting, invoicing, and customer communication with Project Managers and field teams.

Monitor project budgets, production, milestones, work hours, As-Builts, closeout documentation, and overall project performance.

Conduct field inspections to ensure work quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project specifications.

Support recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of field personnel.

Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.

Required Qualifications

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

OSHA 30 Certification.

CPR/First Aid Certification.

Experience

Experience managing aerial and/or underground telecommunications construction projects.

Experience supervising construction crews and Foremen.

Experience coordinating project schedules, budgets, materials, and field operations.

Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.

Skills and Abilities

Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.

Knowledge of aerial and underground utility construction methods.

Strong organizational, project management, and budgeting skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and construction management software.

Ability to analyze budgets, production reports, estimates, and project costs.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with customers, crews, and leadership.

Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, safety, and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with HCSS HeavyBid or similar construction management software.

Experience managing multiple crews and large-scale telecommunications construction projects.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, push, pull, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to safely work around heavy equipment, active construction sites, and moving vehicles.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and other required PPE.
