UNC RNs typically work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the department’s patient needs and staffing model. Nurses at UNC often collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and participate in interdisciplinary rounds. This team-based environment fosters ongoing learning and professional development, while also encouraging input from all members to deliver the best possible patient outcomes. Job-seekers should be flexible and open to fast-paced, dynamic schedules and be comfortable working collaboratively in a large academic medical center.

What is an Unc RN?

An UNC RN (University of North Carolina Registered Nurse) is a registered nurse who works within the UNC Health system or affiliated medical facilities. They provide direct patient care, administer medications, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure quality treatment. UNC RNs may work in various specialties, including emergency care, surgery, pediatrics, and intensive care. Their responsibilities also include patient education, record-keeping, and support for treatment plans. This role requires a valid RN license and often specific certifications depending on the unit or specialty.
