Job Description 

UNC Health Blue Ridge is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at our Blue Ridge Cancer Center

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Licensure Requirements  

  • Completion of an accredited graduate –level Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) program.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in the state of North Carolina or eligible.
  • Board certification if required by the Department

Professional Experience Requirements:

  •  At least 3+ year as a NP is preferred.- Willing to train new grads 
  • Prefer candidates with past experience in Hematology and or oncology setting

Job duties and expectations:

  • See a variety of hematology and oncology patients, including managing a benign hematology caseload
  • See pretreat patients prior to chemotherapy treatments
  • Complete all chemo education with patients prior to new or changing treatments
  • Support the medical oncologist to see any patients that are having symptoms or concerns
  • Review patient labs and test results to approve treatments

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

  • Demonstrated clinical competency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills.
  • Effective interaction and care of patients
  • Documentation of medical records for accurate billing
