Job description

Develop comprehensive cost estimates based on early design concepts, schematic layouts, and full construction documents. Typically responsible for projects valued under $75 million or specific portions of larger, more complex builds!


  • Salary range: up to $160,000.00 + discretionary bonus (up to 15%)
  • HYBRID work schedule
  • Vehicle Allowance


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual estimates, budgets, and detailed bids based on project documents.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and scope pricing; assemble general conditions costs.
  • Create bid spreadsheets and documentation for bid day, including schedules, insurance, and bonding.
  • Evaluate plans and specs for constructability, phasing, and staffing needs.
  • Collaborate with team to define bid strategy and identify risks/opportunities.
  • Assist in subcontractor and supplier selection after award.
  • Define scopes, solicit bids, and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ensure adequate bid coverage and manage scope comparisons.
  • Lead or support bid closings and proposal efforts.
  • Work closely with design teams during preconstruction.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of estimating and preconstruction experience working for a general contractor, with a track record of success on projects exceeding $30 million.
  • Advanced credentials such as DBIA or LEED AP are a plus.
  • Skilled in both conceptual and detailed estimating, including quantity take-offs and scope development.
  • Strong grasp of cost structures, industry practices, and construction methods.
