We're looking for someone with experience with mechanical product design experience and advanced surface modeling skills to join our dynamic team and help us continue producing world-class boats.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Conceptualizes and defines all aspects of form, function, aesthetics, and end user interface, while meeting defined criteria for product features, cost, manufacturability, and project schedules. Creates and maintains all engineering and assembly drawings, parts manuals and build procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Product Design and Development
  • Taking concept renderings and conceptual surface models to Class-A surface levels.
  • Utilizing Solidworks to create solid models and 2D drawings necessary for manufacturing parts.
  • Utilizing Solidworks/Rhino 3D models based on scan data through reverse engineering.
  • Working with the engineering design team to create designs from written and verbal input.
  • Researching, developing and/or recommending materials for construction and manufacturing processes.
  • Performing routine engineering calculations including stress analysis, fit analysis and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Continually reviewing current designs for cost effectiveness, manufacturing and quality improvements.
  • Working directly with project managers and the research and development department on multiple projects.
  • Assisting in prototype development and product testing.
  • Prioritizing work duties, and following through on action items.
  • CAD Operation
  • Solid Modeling and Parametric modeling
  • 3D surface modeling
  • Software maintenance
  • Detail drawings
  • Design layouts
  • Parts illustration and manuals including parts listings and updates
  • Templates - Production and R&D
  • All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2-5 years experience in a product design or design engineering role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Must have mechanical product design experience using solid modeling application.
  • Proficient with 3D CAD software and advanced surface modeling is a must.
  • Strong working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment is a must
