The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UCBA) is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio. Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Clinical Instructor faculty position in the Dental Hygiene Program. This is a nine-month position, active from mid-August through mid-May.
Essential Functions
Faculty responsibilities include instruction in laboratory and clinical (performing dental hygiene duties). Other responsibilities associated with this position will include professional/scholarly activities related to the profession (such as membership/leadership in the Dental Hygiene Association, professional presentations on pedagogy and or dentistry, and publications in professional journals), as well as department, college, university, and community service.
Minimum Requirements
This position requires all of the following prior to the effective date of the appointment:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene or an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene and a Bachelor's Degree in health, education or another applicable field.
  • An Ohio Dental Hygiene License or eligibility for an Ohio Dental Hygiene License as defined by the Ohio State Dental Board http://dental.ohio.gov/Licensure/Dental-Hygienist#62388-dental-hygienist;
  • An Ohio local anesthesia certificate or eligibility for an Ohio local anesthesia certificate.
  • One (1) academic year of teaching experience in a dental hygiene program within the past five (5) years. Teaching experience should include teaching in a didactic, laboratory, or clinical setting
  • Two (2) years of clinical practice experience as a dental hygienist.
