We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. This person be responsible for managing complex accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit support while ensuring compliance with GAAP and maintaining accurate, auditable financial records. The ideal candidate has at least five years of accounting experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple locations.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, practices, and standards in performing complex duties related to preparing and analyzing financial information to record transactions, prepare reports and review and verify for accuracy.
  • Compile, review, analyze and record financial information to the general ledger, including reconciliation, journal entries, fixed assets, etc.
  • Complete monthly closings general ledger and account maintenance.
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies to ensure general ledger account information is accurate, consistent, traceable, and auditable.
  • Manage and record and review transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Assisting with external annual audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Observe and document processes and procedures related to all aspects of accounting and operations functions; as well as provide input on areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • A minimum of 8 years in accounting/finance
  • CPA required
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Successful candidates will be based in either our Tyson’s Corner/Vienna, and Leesburg, Virginia office and attend occasional meetings in the other location.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
