Job description

The Opportunity

Typography is core to how ideas are expressed. If you're passionate about beautifully created design, have deep curiosity about what AI can do, and take personal responsibility for creating products that people love; then this may be the role for you! At Adobe, we are rapidly transforming how typography is created, discovered, customized, and experienced. The Adobe Fonts and Type team plays a foundational role across Adobe's entire suite of creative tools, and we are looking for a Director of Product Management to lead typography into the era of generative and AI-assisted design.

In this role, we are looking for a proven visionary and technically proficient individual to lead the next wave of innovation; championing a clear product vision for typography that is deeply integrated with Adobe Firefly, Acrobat, Express, and the whole of Creative Cloud enabling creators to work faster, explore more freely, and express themselves with greater control and trust. You will lead a team of Product Managers who deliver typography solutions and experiences that scale across Adobe's ecosystem.

What You'll Do

Define Typography's Role in Adobe's AI Strategy

  • Establish a long-term vision for how typography evolves alongside generative workflows, including type creation, transformation, personalization, and intelligent layout.
  • Define how AI can enhance typographic exploration and craft-without eroding authorship, intent, or typographic quality.
  • Partner closely with leadership across multiple teams, including Adobe Research, to ensure typography is a first-class citizen in Adobe's generative AI platform strategy.

Lead Product Strategy Across Creative Cloud

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy for Adobe Fonts and typography capabilities across Creative Cloud applications.
  • Align typography roadmaps with broader Creative Cloud AI initiatives, including cross-app consistency, shared models, and platform services.
  • Find opportunities where typography can unlock differentiated Creative Cloud experiences-such as smarter font discovery, adaptive typography, and AI-assisted build systems.

Build & Lead High-Impact Product Teams

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Product Managers, setting clear expectations around strategy, execution, and impact.
  • Empower PMs to partner deeply with Design, Engineering, Research, and Data Science to ship new innovation in creative ability and user experience.
  • Create a culture of strong product thinking, rapid learning, and high creative standards.

Champion Creators & Craft

  • Represent the voice of designers, typographers, and creative professionals in all product decisions.
  • Balance automation and assistance with respect for typographic nuance, global languages, and accessibility.
  • Invest in research and experimentation to understand how AI can elevate-not flatten-typographic expression.

Measure & Communicate Impact

  • Define success metrics that reflect creative empowerment, adoption of AI-powered features, and long-term platform health.
  • Clearly communicate strategy, progress, and findings to executive collaborators and cross-functional partners.

What You Bring

Product Leadership Experience

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including leadership of multiple Product Managers.
  • Proven success defining and accomplishing strategy for platform or ecosystem-scale products.
  • Experience working across complex, matrixed organizations.

AI & Creative Technology Fluency

  • Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts as applied to creative tools and workflows.
  • Experience partnering with ML, data, or applied research teams to ship AI-powered products.
  • Clear point of view on how generative AI should augment human creativity.

Strategic & Systems Thinking

  • Ability to connect typography, design systems, AI platforms, and business outcomes into a cohesive strategy.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and shaping direction in rapidly evolving spaces.
  • Strong product judgment and prioritization skills.

Leadership & Communication

  • Inspiring people manager with a track record of developing product talent.
  • Excellent communicator who can align executives, partners, and teams around a shared vision.
  • Skilled at translating complex technical and AI concepts into clear product narratives.
