Job description

About the Client:

Langhorne Concrete is a growing concrete contractor based in Marshall, VA, delivering major commercial, government, and K-12 projects across the DMV.

Despite winning increasingly large projects, the company has maintained a non-corporate, family-oriented culture where people have autonomy, relationships matter, and everyone is invested in the success of the business. This is a key leadership hire as the company continues to grow, giving the CEO the opportunity to step back from day-to-day operations and focus on strategic growth and winning new business.

For the right person, there is significant upward mobility and the opportunity to have a genuine impact on the direction of a growing company. And yes, there is even an office dog.

About the Role:

Langhorne Concrete is looking for an Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the business, lead the Project Management team, and oversee a portfolio of concrete projects across the DMV.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys being close to the projects and the people while also thinking strategically about how to improve operations and support continued growth.

The Ideal Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience within commercial concrete or structural concrete construction
  • Strong Project Management and operational leadership background
  • Experience leading and developing PMs and project teams
  • Experience with commercial, government, and/or K-12 projects
  • Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, contracts, and project delivery
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Comfortable working directly with ownership and senior leadership

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Project Management team
  • Oversee a portfolio of active concrete projects across the DMV
  • Provide guidance and support to PMs throughout project delivery
  • Monitor project financial performance, schedules, contracts, and client relationships
  • Improve operational processes as the company continues to scale
  • Work closely with field leadership, estimating, clients, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Identify operational risks and opportunities before they impact projects
  • Support the CEO and leadership team with strategic business planning and growth
  • Develop and mentor the next generation of leaders within the organization

Why Join?

  • Key leadership hire with the opportunity to shape the future of a growing company
  • Help take the CEO out of day-to-day operations so he can focus on growing the business
  • Significant upward mobility as the company continues to expand
  • Lead a strong PM team and influence how the company operates
  • Major commercial, government, and K-12 projects across the DMV
  • Family-oriented, collaborative culture without the feel of a large corporate contractor
  • Direct access to ownership and the ability to make decisions without layers of bureaucracy
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact on the growth and success of the business
