This role will support the estimating team in all aspects of the bidding process, including quantity take-offs, data entry, and coordination with internal teams and subcontractors. - Assist with quantity take-offs from plans and specifications
- Support pricing and bid preparation for construction projects
- Work with the estimating team to develop accurate and competitive bid proposals
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents
- Assist in subcontractor and supplier solicitation during the bidding process
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing and project information
- Support the preparation and organization of bid documents and proposals
- Assist with project scheduling efforts as directed by senior estimators
- Maintain organized project files, bid documents, and estimate records
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and training as needed
- Assist with bid closeout and final proposal assembly
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
- Basic knowledge of construction estimating principles (internship or coursework acceptable)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications (preferred but not required)
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in the heavy civil construction industry
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or in progress)
- 0-2 years of experience in construction estimating, internships, or related field experience preferred
