ABOUT THIS POSITION
Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services on the Waystar Claims platform. You will contribute to C#/.NET microservices, event-driven messaging, and SQL Server data tiers, working alongside senior engineers and architects to deliver reliable, high-quality healthcare revenue cycle solutions.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Responsibilities
Develop, test, deploy, andmaintainsoftware applications and services using C#/.NET.
Collaborate with product owners, architects, and teammates to understand requirements and deliver well-scoped technical solutions.
Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code adhering to Waystar's coding standards and best practices.
Participate in code reviews, giving and incorporating constructive feedback to maintain code quality.
Troubleshoot and debug software issues,identifyingrootcausesand implementing effective solutions.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of Waystar's software development processes and tooling.
Develop andmaintainautomated tests (unit and integration) to ensure software reliability and stability.
Monitor application behavior using Splunk and other observability tools; surface and escalate performance concerns.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applyingnew approacheswithin your area of work.
Participate in technical design discussions for new features,contributingimplementation-level insights.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
3-5 years of professional software development experience witha track recordof delivering production-quality software.
Proficiencyin C# and .NET (both .NET 8 and .NET Framework); solid understanding of the .NET ecosystem.
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
Experience with SQL Server - writing queries, stored procedures, and understanding basic schema design.
Experience working within microservices and distributed systems that use asynchronous, message-based architectures (e.g., RabbitMQ).
Working knowledge of software development best practices including Agile methodologies, CI/CD (Azure DevOps Pipelines), and automated testing.
Familiarity with Git-based version control and GitHub pull request workflows.
Good problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Strong communicationand interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage your own tasks and priorities with guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Helm chart-based Kubernetes deployments.
Experience with Redis for distributed caching.
Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse technologies.
Familiarity with structured logging and observability tools such as Splunk.
Knowledge of X12 EDI healthcare transaction standards (837 claim submission, 835 remittance advice, 270/271 eligibility inquiry/response).
Knowledge of healthcare IT standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) or prior experience in the healthcare revenue cycle industry.
