Job Summary:
Twitch is the worldโs biggest live streaming service, and they are seeking an engineering manager to lead their Payments team. This role involves overseeing the development of payment infrastructure and ensuring accurate transaction processing while collaborating with various cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
โข Lead a team of engineers to design, build, and operate full-stack web applications that process millions of transactions daily
โข Own your team's delivery end-to-end: roadmap planning, execution, and operational excellence
โข Grow senior engineers in their careers: coach, challenge, and create opportunities for promotion
โข Make hands-on architectural decisions: you'll be in design reviews, weighing tradeoffs on vendor integrations, system resilience, and data accuracy
โข Partner cross-functionally with product, finance, and compliance to shape what we build and why
โข Navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities while keeping your team focused and energized
Qualifications:
Required:
โข 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager leading teams of 5+
โข 5+ years of experience in software development
โข Experience with web services, cloud infrastructure, and system design
โข Track record of hiring, retaining, and growing engineering talent
โข Experience operating consumer-facing web applications with high reliability requirements
โข Experience using Agile methodologies to deliver iteratively
Preferred:
โข Background as a Senior/Staff Engineer designing and operating distributed systems in production
โข Familiarity with payment systems, financial infrastructure, or e-commerce platforms
โข Experience with Go, React, or AWS services
โข Experience with Twitch, either as a viewer or creator (or both!)
