Job description

Craftsmen Contractors is hiring experienced Forklift Operators for the New Orleans area to move products and materials around facilities. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job will involve working at a warehouse distribution facility. The work schedule is Monday through Friday (7:30 am - 4:30 pm). These are temp-to-permanent positions for the right candidates.

Weekly pay by direct deposit.


Pay rate: $16 - $17/hour, depending on experience and how you do on the forklift test.

$16 - usually for candidates who do not have a TWIC card, but have decent forklift operating experience.

$17 - usually for candidates who have a current TWIC card and good experience.


Forklift Operators need to have 2 steady years of forklift experience. A forklift certification in the past is a plus, and a current physical TWIC Card (receipts are not accepted) is preferred for this position. Will need to pass a criminal background check (no felonies are allowed) and a practical forklift test.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
  • Transport raw materials to production workstations
  • Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
  • Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment in the facilities


Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Forklift Operator - 2 steady years
  • Need to be able to pass a criminal background check (no felonies) and a practical forklift test
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
  • A current TWIC Card is preferred
  • Excellent physical condition and coordination
