Job description

TICO is an equipment logistics solutions company that has been in business since 1946. While based out of Savannah, TICO has locations throughout the Southeast and interior United States. TICO owns and operates over 2,000 Jockey Trucks/Terminal Tractors and 1,300 plus specialty trailers. We are in pursuit of a Welder/Fabricator for our Savannah location.
SUMMARY
Perform miscellaneous repairs and preventive maintenance on trailers to maintain a safe efficient fleet.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform complete routine, diagnostic and repair inspections on trailers, for any damage, and notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment, and corrective action taken.

• Comply with all established industry safety norms and other quality control measures while conducting work processes.
• Perform regular servicing and maintenance of equipment and document all repairs in the maintenance software system.
• Maintain and perform repairs on air brake system, suspension, landing gear, foundation brakes, electrical, coupler system, decking, understructure, etc.
• Weld repairs in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions.
• Perform minor repairs on terminal tractors.
• Perform test drive to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Provide assistance to other mechanics as needed.
• Comply with Company/agency policy/procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.

• Other duties may be assigned.
