Many trucking jobs that involve transporting cargo through ports require a TWIC card for legal access.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a Twic Card driver?

To thrive as a Twic Card Driver, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), a clean driving record, and a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card, ensuring eligibility for secure port and maritime facility access. Familiarity with vehicle inspection tools, electronic logging devices (ELDs), and safe cargo handling procedures is typically required. Strong attention to detail, dependability, and good communication skills are essential for following protocols and working with dispatchers or port personnel. These abilities are crucial for maintaining security, safety, and efficiency while navigating regulated, high-security environments.

The work environment can be busy and fast-paced, with an emphasis on safety and adherence to established protocols.
