VPK Classroom Assistant / Paraprofessional

Treasure Village Montessori (TVM) is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-centered Classroom Assistant to support our VPK program for the 20262027 school year.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, values kindness and patience, and thrives in a collaborative school environment grounded in Montessori philosophy and whole-child development.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the lead teacher with daily classroom routines and instruction
  • Assisting students with academic, social, and behavioral needs
  • Helping maintain a calm, organized, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Supervising students during transitions, lunch, playground, and specials
  • Preparing classroom materials and assisting with hands-on learning activities
  • Supporting positive behavior, grace and courtesy, and independence in students
  • Assisting with aftercare supervision as needed
  • Collaborating professionally with faculty, staff, and families

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young children in a school or childcare setting
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and engaged throughout the school day
  • Montessori experience or interest is a plus, but not required
  • CDA, paraprofessional certification, or early childhood coursework preferred

Position Details:

  • Full-time, school-year position
  • Hours are 8:15 AM 4:15 PM daily
