At Prosper-Tech Machine & Tool, the Lead CNC Programmer – Turning plays a critical role in developing, optimizing, and leading CNC turning operations on complex, small-batch components. This is a leadership-level programming position focused on process ownership, quality, and continuous improvement — not just running pre-written programs.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Program and set up multi-axis CNC turning centers
  • Create and optimize toolpaths using Hypermill and longhand G/M code
  • Work directly at the machine (Fanuc controls) to edit, refine, and validate programs
  • Select tooling, determine workholding, and design fixturing
  • Run high-mix, low-volume aerospace and medical jobs
  • Estimate cycle times, tooling cost, and program efficiency
  • Perform first-article validation and in-process inspection
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust feeds/speeds/offsets
  • Develop process control plans and manage tool life
  • Train and mentor setup machinists and operators
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering to maintain schedule

---

Machines, Controls & Software

You’ll work with equipment such as:

  • Machines: Multi-channel dual-turret turn-mill lathes with sub-spindles and live tooling
  • Controls: Fanuc
  • CAM Software: Hypermill (Mastercam experience transferable)
  • Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, indicators, bore gauges

---

Materials You’ll Work With

  • Inconel
  • Stainless Steel
  • Titanium
  • Aerospace-grade alloys

What We’re Looking ForRequired:

  • 5+ years of CNC turning and programming experience
  • Experience with live tooling, Y-axis, and sub-spindle lathes
  • Strong proficiency with Fanuc controls
  • CAM programming experience (Hypermill preferred)
  • Blueprint reading & GD&T knowledge
  • Ability to select tooling, design fixturing, and optimize parameters
  • Comfortable leading jobs from setup through production
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-driven

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Aerospace or Medical machining experience
  • Multi-axis turn-mill programming experience
  • Experience mentoring or leading other machinists

---
