Their duties include mowing, fertilizing, irrigating, and controlling pests to ensure healthy and visually appealing turf. Turf managers often work with specialized equipment and must have knowledge of soil science, plant biology, and environmental regulations. They play a key role in keeping outdoor spaces safe and attractive for public use or sporting events.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a turf manager?

To thrive as a Turf Manager, you need expertise in horticulture, soil science, turfgrass management, and often a degree in agronomy or related fields. Familiarity with irrigation systems, pest management technologies, and certification such as from the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) are commonly required.
