Job Summary
The position is responsible for selling new and used lawn & garden equipment to a diverse customer base, with an emphasis on commercial accounts. This role primarily focuses on outside sales, developing and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients. Additional responsibilities include assisting walk-in customers with sales needs, sales support onsite at Urbandale retail location, handling phone and email inquiries, and providing expert product support to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Serves as the company representative for the sale of residential and commercial turf equipment, with primary emphasis on sales to commercial customers
-Sales activities will include both outside sales execution for commercial sales opportunities and inside sales support for residential customers
-Maintains current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment offered for sale
-Must be able to operate all equipment that is offered for sale by the dealership
-Maintains knowledge of competitive activity & products
-Maintains all customer information for sales management, monitoring trends in customer business activity
-Knows and follows a defined sales process, including but not limited to evaluating equipment, developing quotes, tracking quotes, updating progress, and closing deals
-Maintains assigned company vehicles and equipment
-Assists with the preparation and execution of customer events -Conducts new equipment demonstrations
-Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods
-Attends applicable sales training events/seminars
-Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values to evaluate properly for trading purposes
-Any other job duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
-3+ years of outside sales experience required, preferably within the outdoor equipment industry or an adjacent field
-2+ years of building and maintaining an assigned territory with key accounts required
-Knowledge of lawn & garden products required
-Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
-Ability to work flexible hours inclusive of Saturdays as scheduled
-Excellent customer relationship skills
-Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports
-High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
-Must have a valid driver's license and insurability under company fleet insurance policy
