SUMMARY
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Associate is responsible for supporting leaders and employees with a wide range of HR initiatives, operational processes and procedures, tactical issues and employee relations efforts. The HRBP builds positive working relationships and acts as a contact for leaders and employees within the assigned client group. Complies and maintains accurate electronic and paper personnel records utilizing workday. Providing high level administrative support for Plant Manager, Supervisors, Operations, Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, Accounting, Safety, and other departments in Westlake Pipe & Fittings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
  • Develop and maintains knowledge of company systems (Workday).
  • Recruits, interviews, tests and selects salaried and hourly employees for client group. Conducts new employee orientation to foster positive impression of business unit.
  • Administers salary and hourly compensations programs to ensure compliance and equity within the client group.
  • Administers vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and other employee related reports requested by management.
  • Prepares new hire and termination documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine termination reason.
  • Responsible for accurate recording and data entry of employee information such as personal data, compensation, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason into Company's HRIS.
  • Processes employment applications and assists in other employment activities such as pre-employment background checks, drug screens, new employee orientation, etc
  • Maintains and updates employee files and file room including electronic files to include personnel files, medical files and general files.
  • Manages company sponsored events and programs such as community outreach and service award banquets.
  • Coordinates client group training with client group and human resources management.
  • Gather and maintain all safety records and ensure their accuracy.
  • SAP verifications and reporting to include cycle counts and inventory.
  • Receives and reviews invoices, codes and submits for approval.
  • Backup for Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) accounting and coding
  • Updates and maintains bulletin board postings.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Any additional duties and tasks as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of Human Resources or related experience.
  • SHRM or HRCI certified professional preferred.
  • Must have general knowledge of the Human Resources function with an emphasis on customer service. Must have ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Requires a strong attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Workday and SAP/S4 systems experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 6am (or 6:30am) to 3pm (or 3:30pm) with possible overtime based on business needs.
  • This is a fully onsite role. Must be able to commute daily to our Greensboro, GA plant.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The pay range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be offered as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits).
