Turf Technician – Full Time

Summary: The Turf Technician plays a vital role in the daily maintenance and enhancement of the golf course and surrounding grounds. This position ensures optimal playing conditions and aesthetic appeal by performing a variety of turf care and equipment operation tasks in alignment with the Atlanta Athletic Club’s mission and values.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the golf course for daily play, ensuring high-quality playing conditions
  • Operate and maintain turf equipment including mowers for greens, fairways, tees, collars, approaches, and roughs
  • Maintain and groom bunkers, including hand raking and edging
  • Operate heavy equipment as needed for turf and landscape projects
  • Conduct daily equipment checks and report issues to the Superintendent or Equipment Manager
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety and teamwork
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn turf care practices and equipment operation
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, pulling, extensive walking and standing
  • Familiarity with safety equipment and procedures (e.g., respirators, gloves, ear/eye protection, boots)
  • Previous experience in golf course or landscape maintenance is a plus but not required
