Job description

Performs general maintenance work in the Parks/Recreation/Tourism Department. Operates trucks, trailers, mowers, trimmers, chain saws, and various equipment. Performs turf mowing and trimming, litter and trash removal, painting, graffiti removal, minor repair tasks, and other grounds maintenance duties including cemetery maintenance, as assigned. Assists with seasonal City snow removal and performs other park maintenance related duties.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of safe and proper use of hand tools, string trimmers, mowers, and various equipment. Skilled in use of hand tools, mowers, tractor, trimmers, compressor, and generator. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Requires Class B permit prior to hire and obtain license within the first six months of hire. Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire.
Physical Demands: Outdoor work 95% of the time. Must be able to bend and lift 75 lbs., plus or minus 25 lbs.
Typical Working Conditions: Outdoor conditions include extreme heat and cold, adverse weather.
