Job description

SUMMARY:


The Deburr Technician is part of the production and finishing team. You will typically work on the manufacturing floor as a piece of the post-production team. Your job is to perform an inspection and remove burrs from products after production so that you can finish these products properly. A burr is a ridge that is often left on a product by machines during the manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deburr and process machined valve components in post machining
  • Chase machine cut threads to size if necessary
  • Polish tight tolerance surface finishes and inspect with profilometer
  • Wash parts that have gone through deburr process and passivate using citric passivation process when required
  • Assist with material inventory and prep for machining processes
  • Operate a mass finishing barrel tumbler using given recipes for specific parts and materials
  • Meet expectations for productivity and production goals
  • Maintain a clean and efficient work environment
  • Constantly keep products moving and alert management when production is inhibited
  • Provide continuous ideas for process improvements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of professional work experience in a factory or production environment


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • 1+ years of deburr experience using various deburr techniques using manual and automated equipment is preferred
  • Experience working in a machine shop
  • Experience with basic blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of CNC machining
  • Experience using various measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers, and borescopes


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Operating machinery from a standing position
  • Constantly positions self to operate machinery in a variety of configurations.
  • Constantly visually inspect parts
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 30 pounds
