Job description

7am-3pm Positon is Open Tuesday - Saturday

(Get paid weekly!) Hourly rate based off experience $17-$18.50
Floor Technician Overview: The floor technician will complete the tasks needed to maintain the buildings and grounds in a state of good repair, cleanliness and attractive appearance.
Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper removal and disposal of trash from hallways and common area receptacles.

  • Buff hallway, dining room, and common area floors.

  • Wax, strip, and buff tile floors in hallways, dining room, and common areas.

  • Maintain neat, clean interiors and exteriors of the buildings.

  • Ensure that sidewalks and driveway are swept clean and free from rubbish and debris.

  • Ensure that driveways and walks are plowed in winter, cleared of snow and salted to prevent icing.

  • Ensure safe and proper storage of cleaning supplies, chemicals, tools and equipment.

  • Participate in tasks needed to maintain buildings and grounds.

  • Report concerns about residents' well-being to Case Manager or Administrator.

  • Repair equipment or requisition needed services to repair equipment.

  • Check daily for work requests of staff and residents.

  • Perform handyman tasks for residents.

  • Maintain an accurate ledger of repairs and services provided and submit to the office by the designated date each month.

  • Assist with room setup and cleanup for special events.

  • Inspect buildings and grounds weekly and repair items identified as needing repair; replace light bulbs.

  • Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Understanding to repair minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical problems.

  • OSHA-MSDS sheets and procedures

  • Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs., using proper body mechanics or equipment

  • Bending, kneeling or climbing ladders to perform maintenance and housekeeping tasks

  • Occasional weekend work for special events, snowstorms or maintenance emergencies

Qualifications:  

  • Handyman skills

  • Experience in maintenance or environmental services

  • Experience with maintaining floors, including waxing, stripping, and buffing of floors is helpful but not required

  • Enjoyment in working with older adults

  • May be expected to perform tasks that are not included in this position description, but which may be assigned time permitting.

  • Reliable Transportation 

  • Weekends and Holidays are required
