Job description

Bureau: Disease Prevention and Management | Infectious Disease Prevention and Control
Full-Time County Contractual Position open to all qualified candidates. Location: 1 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401 Hours: 40 hours per week Benefits: Participation in the County's group health plan including prescription, dental, and optical, paid holidays and sick leave. Optional deferred compensation program at employee's own expense. Job Description
Nature of Work:
Ensure compliance with regulations from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the state Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) in order to prevent work-related illness. Provide training to employees on bloodborne pathogens (BBP), personal protective equipment (PPE), respiratory protection, tuberculosis (TB) and infection control based on Anne Arundel County Department of Health (DOH) policy, OSHA/MOSH mandates and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Maryland Department of Health (MDH) guidelines. Ensure all DOH employees meet the health requirements for their position and receive testing or training as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Experience writing policy and procedures and designing and presenting health education.
License or Certification:
Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
Notes:
The base location is 1 Harry S. Truman Parkway in Annapolis, with travel to other Department of Health locations in Anne Arundel County to provide training and testing.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of federal regulations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and a team player who is flexible and tech-savvy.
