POSITION SUMMARY


The CDL Driver I is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and delivering catering items, beverages, and equipment to assigned aircraft on schedule and in full compliance with aviation safety standards. This role works closely with flight crews, ramp agents, and internal teams to ensure each flight is properly catered and ready for departure.
Reports to: Lead Flight Coordinator Schedule: Rotating shifts within a 24/7 operation (weekends/holidays as needed)
FLIGHT CATERING

  • Load and unload meals, beverages, and equipment onto catering trucks.
  • Safely operate trucks and lift platforms to deliver catering to aircraft doors.
  • Verify accuracy of load sheets and ensure all items meet flight requirements.
  • Deliver catering on schedule to meet strict departure timelines.
  • Communicate with flight attendants and ramp staff regarding changes or needs.

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE

  • Follow all FAA, TSA, DOT, and airport safety guidelines while operating on the ramp.
  • Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain a valid DOT medical card and adhere to random drug/alcohol screening.
  • Use required PPE and follow HACCP/GMP food safety procedures.
  • Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or incidents immediately.

EQUIPMENT AND WAREHOUSE SUPPORT

  • Maintain truck cleanliness, organization, and readiness.
  • Assist with replenishing carts, staging equipment, and returning trays/pans.
  • Support warehouse operations during downtime, including sorting equipment and resetting carts.
  • Participate in spill-response procedures and maintain up-to-date documentation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • CDL Class B license required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Must pass:
    • DOT medical exam
    • Pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing
    • TSA, Customs, and airport background checks
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50-75 lbs repeatedly.
  • Ability to climb, bend, and safely work on elevated truck platforms.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work flexible schedules (24/7 operation).
  • English required; bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
