Job description

Summary:

The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for handling the human resources life cycle for the employees of Try It Beverage. This includes orientation and onboarding, leaves administration, employee benefits administration, billing cycles and audits for benefit offerings and the termination process.

Essential Functions (must be able to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation): 

Administrative duties include:

  • Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions and other HR tasks as assigned.
  • Manages HR Onboarding Duties; I-9 files, benefit election, payroll (Paycom), PTO requests, employment records and documents for new hires, 401k/HSA contributions; Employee Referral Program, Core Value Awards, EAP Program, Company History.  
  • Performs HRIS data entry and personnel e-file maintenance.
  • Processes all employment status changes, including terminations.
  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates specific onboarding with department managers.
  • Processes all federal, state, and local garnishments and support orders.
  • Updates employment headcount and other reports.
  • Responds to unemployment claims.

Benefit Administration includes:

  • Maintains and distributes benefit information to employees. Supports the annual open enrollment process.
  • Assists in resolution of employees’ claims issues.
  • Reviews and processes benefit enrollments through Paycom.
  • Verifies and approves Health, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD, STD, Supplemental offerings.
  • Works with Finance Dept to audit processes and ensure accurate billing measures.
  • Works with insurance providers to resolve any enrollment issues.
  • Activate COBRA events through Paycom.
  • Processes 401K Contributions and Loan Repayments with weekly payroll.
  • Tracks and monitors employee leave status, updates, changes.
  • Administers disability, PFL and worker’s compensation leave paperwork and corresponding FMLA designation notices, ensuring HIPAA compliance and NLRA requirements.
  • Administers the Random Drug Testing program in coordination with the third-party consortium.
  • In consultation with the HR Team, facilitates trainings: NYS Harassment, Reasonable Suspicion, others as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 3-5 years related human resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and union environments preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend regulatory documentation, policies and procedures.  Ability to write detailed employee correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Database software; Human Resource systems; Internet software; Payroll systems (Paycom); Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Other qualifications: Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Laws especially FLSA, NYS Wage and Hour, NYS Human Rights, Equal Employment Opportunity, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA and NLRA .

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear, stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment:

Works in an indoor office setting.  The noise in the work environment is usually quiet.
