We are seeking a Distribution Supervisor to assist our warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, safety, keying, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is willing to go above and beyond to maintain Delaney's customer service standards, with a hands-on approach and a talent for team leadership and management.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Directly supervises employees in the Shipping and Receiving Department or Keying Department.
โ€ข Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
โ€ข Enforces safety regulations.
โ€ข Schedule the necessary trucking to ensure timely delivery of orders to our customers.
โ€ข Invoice finished goods that are ready. This includes international and domestic orders.
โ€ข Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
โ€ข Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
โ€ข Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and seals truck doors.
โ€ข Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair. Maintains vehicle maintenance report.
โ€ข Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
โ€ข Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
โ€ข Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
โ€ข Performs other duties as assigned.
โ€ข Carefully and accurately maintain keying records.
โ€ข Inventories keying supplies; reports shortages to Warehouse Manager.
โ€ข Supervise personnel and assign orders for Keys locks using the KEY ALIKE method using various tools to disassemble, key, and reassemble door locks and ensure proper functioning prior to individual repackaging.
Qualifications:
โ€ข High school diploma plus one-year certificate from college or technical school; or twelve to eighteen months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
โ€ข Proven ability to lead and direct staff. Adept at motivating others in a deadline-driven environment. Delivers results.
โ€ข Able to analyze data and dive deep to develop creative and workable business solutions.
โ€ข Skilled at developing, implementing, monitoring, tracking, and improving KPIs.
โ€ข Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
โ€ข Experience with ERP systems. NetSuite experience is a plus.
โ€ข Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
โ€ข Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
โ€ข Experience with e-commerce, LTL, and small parcel shipments.
โ€ข Bilingual: Spanish is a plus.
