 WHERE YOU WILL WORK

This position will work remote, based in either the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area, with occasional onsite presence as needed at our Smyrna, Georgia office, or in Orlando, Florida with occasional onsite presence at our Lake Nona office. 

WHO YOU ARE

This role requires a dynamic, results-driven NAM for The Home Depot with a strong eCommerce and in-store background in the home center channel. The ideal candidate is a motivated “hunter” who excels at expanding existing business, developing new opportunities, and driving long-term strategic growth. Success in this role will come from a balanced combination of sales expertise, analytical capability, and operational understanding in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue and market share within assigned national home center accounts.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with Brand Advocate team, Orange Apron and merchant team.
  • Identify new business opportunities across AMES business categories.
  • Communicate and align customer strategies with internal stakeholders, ensuring cross-functional collaboration (marketing, operations, finance, supply chain).
  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Lead customer presentations in both small group settings and large-scale meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with AMES Home Depot eCommerce team on shared goals.
  • Negotiate pricing, promotions, and contract terms to achieve company objectives.
  • Partner with operations and fulfillment teams to ensure seamless order processing, supply chain efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor and manage account budgets, forecasts, and profitability targets.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience selling into the home center channel; experience in the lawn and garden category strongly preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
    • Proven track record as a hunter with a demonstrated ability to open new business and expand existing accounts.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
    • Exceptional presentation skills, comfortable addressing both small teams and large audiences.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strong negotiation, mathematical, and analytical skills, with proven ability to secure favorable outcomes.

    • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams to achieve customer and company objectives.
    • Understanding of retail operations, supply chain processes, and fulfillment methods.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems; ability to generate and interpret reports.
