As a truck driving instructor, you teach people the qualifications, responsibilities, and skills of a long-haul truck driver and help them earn a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and other certifications. Your job duties include teaching safety procedures, adhering to course objectives as defined by the state Department of Motor Vehicles, monitoring students as they engage in lessons and activities, and grading assignments and projects. You also provide support and counseling to help students explore career opportunities, maintain course records, and integrate technology into your lessons to enhance the effectiveness of instruction. As an instructor, you also serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and integrity.
